This 3-hour training provides EMDR therapists with practical, principle-based strategies for developing and adapting treatment plans that align with the EMDR Therapy framework. Participants will learn how to apply the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and three-pronged approach to structure therapy from intake through progression, adjust plans over time, and navigate common stuck points with confidence. The course covers approaches for both simple and complex cases, offering clear tools to enhance treatment clarity and outcomes.

The training is a taping of a live presentation in 2025. This training was also presented at the 2025 EMDRIA conference.

Holly Forman-Patel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

She utilized her skills as a therapist and program director working with children in school environments and in community mental health settings while simultaneously growing her private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. She recently relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she continues her private practice via telehealth, supporting clients in dual geographies.

Holly specializes in working with children and teens, along with adults, primarily around trauma and anxiety. Holly has published two workbooks on anger management for children and teens.

In her work, Holly utilizes multiple modalities with a primary emphasis on EMDR Therapy. She was first trained in EMDR Therapy in 2012 and moved forward to certification and then to Approved Consultant. She is currently an EMDR Trainer with EMDR Professional Training. She has presented various advanced trainings in EMDR Therapy, and in 2021 she joined the EMDR International Association’s (EMDRIA) Board of Directors. Additionally, she provides the needed hours for EMDR certification and EMDR approved consulting for trained EMDR therapists.

Mary E Eason, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist.

She has been working with adults, teens and children for the last 30 years. She obtained her doctorate degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California and her Masters of Science degree from Cal State Fullerton. Dr. Eason worked as a Mental Health Consultant to the Social Services Agency, assisting social workers, caregivers, and families in managing the emotional and behavioral needs of children. In addition, Dr. Eason is an Approved Consultant in EMDR therapy and has a private practice office in Fullerton, California working with adults and teens suffering with serious and persistent mental illness, depression, anxiety, phobias, trauma and addiction. In addition, Dr. Eason is a Facilitator and Advanced Trainer for EMDR Professional Training located in Southern California.

Dr. Eason is the Orange County Coordinator for the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs Trauma Recovery Network.  Dr. Eason is responsible for coordinating a group of EMDR therapists that  provide pro bono EMDR therapy to residents of Orange County who have experienced significant trauma related to community emergencies.

Course Description, Learning Objectives, Schedule

  • This 3-hour training will equip participants with essential skills to develop and adapt EMDR therapy treatment plans for both straightforward and complex cases. Attendees will learn practical, principle-based strategies for applying the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and the three-pronged approach to structure therapy, plan effectively from intake, and make adjustments as treatment progresses. The course will also address strategies for navigating common stuck points with creativity and confidence, ensuring treatment plans remain flexible and effective. Whether working with simple presentations or clients with more complex needs, participants will gain clear, actionable tools to enhance treatment clarity, direction, and outcomes.

  • Participants will leave the training with the ability to:

    Objective 1: Explain how to apply the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and the three-pronged approach of EMDR therapy to effectively inform and structure treatment planning.

    Objective 2: Describe how to develop effective EMDR therapy treatment plans at the initial intake session and modify them as therapy progresses, including planning for simple case presentations.

    Objective 3: Create effective EMDR therapy treatment plans for complex clients, including strategies to navigate stuck points and adjust the plan to support ongoing therapeutic progress.

  • Cancellations/refunds:

    No refund for cancellations is provided. If a registrant is unable to attend the training their registration will be moved to complete the on-demand version of the training. The on-demand version currently is not approved for CE's.

    In the event that Holly Forman-Patel is forced to cancel the training, a new training date will be offered. Any registrant who is unable to make the new date will receive a full refund.

    Refund Policy for OnDemand Courses

    OnDemand courses are available for a total of 90 days of enrollment. No refunds are offered. Registrants may reach out to request an extension for extraneous circumstances.

    This course is considered an advanced course for EMDR therapy clinicians. Before enrolling in this course, participants should successfully complete an EMDRIA approved EMDR Basic Training program.
